MIAMI GARDENS — Los Miami Dolphins head coach fired Mike McDanielsources informed Adam Schefter of ESPN.
This decision comes after Mike McDaniel met with the press on Monday and declared that he would participate in interviews for the hiring of the team’s new general manager.
The owner of the DolphinsStephen Ross, met with McDaniel this week to analyze the season and, after that meeting and subsequent reflection, Ross decided to dispense with his services, according to the sources consulted by Schefter.
“After careful evaluation and extensive conversations since the season ended, I have made the decision that our organization needs change,” Ross said in a statement.
“I love Mike and want to thank him for his hard work, commitment and the energy he brought to the organization. Mike is a brilliant mind and his passion for the game and his players was evident every day. I wish him and his family the best in the future,” Ross added.

McDaniel received his first opportunity as a head coach in 2022 with the Dolphins after five years with the 49ers, four of them as running game coordinator and one more as offensive coordinator (2021).
