Dillinger Badminton: Victory & Derby Thrills

With a strong performance, the TV Dillingen badminton cracks consolidated their midfield position in the Southeast Regional League on Saturday. Only six sets were lost in the 7-1 home win over ESV Flugelrad Nürnberg. On Sunday, the Swabian derby against table neighbors TSV Diedorf was also on the agenda in the Sebastian-Kneipp-Halle. Things didn’t go quite so well for Dillingen here. With a slightly different line-up, it was only enough for a 4-4 draw.

After the men’s doubles it was 1:1 against Flugelrad Nuremberg. The narrow defeat of Tobias Güttinger/Moritz Herkner (21:17/11:21/21:23) was to remain the only Dillinger “gift” to the guests from Franconia. Florian Berchtenbreiter/Christian Heufelder (2:0 sets) prevailed, as did the women’s duo with Johanna Reinhardt and Lilli Cramer (2:1) and later the mixed Berchtenbreiter/Cramer (2:1). In the singles, Tobias Güttinger and Moritz Herkner only needed two sets to win, while Tobias Schiegg and Dame Johanna Reinhardt were successful after three rounds.

Challenge Diedorf

With increased self-confidence and a slightly different formation, TV Dillingen faced the challenge of TSV Diedorf on Sunday. Christian Heufelder was missing from this local duel between the two Swabian regional league teams. Tobias Schiegg played the doubles alongside Moritz Herkner. This match was lost in two sets, while Tobias Güttinger won in two sets together with captain Florian Berchtenbreiter. Because the women’s doubles Reinhardt/Cramer again had the upper hand in three sets, TV Dillingen led the singles and mixed doubles with 2:1.

All of these games were decided relatively clearly in two sets. Güttinger and Schiegg gave Dillingen the third and fourth points. Johanna Reinhard, Moritz Herkner and Berchenbreiter/Cramer gave up their matches with a final score of 4:4. All in all, it was a competitive, even derby, as underlined by the total game points of 305:309 and the overall set ratio of 8:9.

Difficult Dillinger away tasks

TSV Diedorf defended its fifth place in the table, one point ahead of Dillinger, who are in seventh place. The next and difficult tasks await on the weekend of the 14th/15th. February on TV Dillingen: It goes to the leaders Regensburg and third place Neuhausen-Nymphenburg II.
