Diarra Injury: Feyenoord Star Exits Africa Cup

Just as Feyenoord’s infirmary became a bit emptier, a new case of injury has presented itself. Gaoussou Diarra suffered an ankle injury during training in Mali, with which he was active in the Africa Cup.

Nothing is yet known about the severity of the injury, but the Malian association reports that Diarra will no longer play at the tournament. The 23-year-old winger returns to Rotterdam for further research, where he played three Premier League matches this season.

Feyenoord left for Marbella, Spain today for a training camp. Sem Steijn, Givairo Read, Jakub Moder and Bart Nieuwkoop, among others, have boarded the plane: they have all been missing in recent weeks (or even months) with injuries.
