DGP Ajay Singhal: Rewari Roots & Connection

Very few people would know that Ajay Singhal, who has been appointed as the new DGP of the state, has a deep connection with the soil of Rewari. After his becoming DGP, old memories of many people and family members of Rewari have become fresh.

Ajay Singhal’s family lived in Rewari and his uncle Vedprakash Singhal and his family still live in Rewari. After his becoming DGP, there is immense happiness among the people here. Ajay Singhal, born in the Harsoriya family of Mohalla Bas Sitabarai here, was born in Palam, Delhi and obtained a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the prestigious educational institute of Delhi, IIT. Thereafter, he passed the UPSC examination and secured 109th rank and made Haryana state proud. His father Om Prakash Singhal did his early education from Hindu High School (presently Hindu Senior Secondary School Model Town) located at Bhadawas Gate, Rewari.

Ajay Singhal’s uncle Ved Prakash Singhal is still living in Rewari with his family. He worked as Principal in Satish Public Secondary School. Vedprakash Singhal made Rewari district famous across the country in the field of table tennis. This is the reason why DGP Ajay Singhal also used to come to Rewari to fulfill his hobby of playing table tennis while studying in IIT New Delhi and played with his cousins Sandeep Singhal and Rajeev Rustagi.

Even today, the ancestral mansion of the Singhal family is there in Bas Sitabarai of Rewari. Uncle Vedprakash Singhal, who lives here, said that Ajay was very smart in studies. He had a lot of self-confidence. This is the reason why they have been able to achieve this position today. He is a source of inspiration for the youth. Ajay also comes to Rewari occasionally and talks to him often.
