Dennis Schröder: NBA Return & Impact

With Dennis Schröder returning, the Sacramento Kings have continued their winning streak in the NBA. After victories over the top teams of the Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Lakers and New York Knicks, the Californians also defeated the recently weak Washington Wizards 128:115 and won four games in a row for the first time in a year.

World and European champion Schröder, who was suspended for three games because of a physical altercation with Lakers star Luka Doncic, showed a good performance. The 32-year-old came off the bench and recorded 15 points and five assists in 20 minutes of playing time.

The Lithuanian star forward Domantas Sabonis (13 points) also celebrated his comeback for the Kings after a two-month injury break. The best thrower was veteran Russell Westbrook with 26 points. In the Wizards’ 30th defeat in the 40th game of the season, Washington had to do without injured star signing Trae Young (came from Atlanta at the beginning of January).

With 12:30 wins, the Kings are still the second-worst team in the Western Conference.

Because the playoffs aren’t a particularly realistic goal, there could still be some movement on Sacramento’s roster before the February 5th trade deadline. Sabonis, among others, is being traded as a departure for first-round picks for a rebuild, but Schröder’s journey through the NBA could also continue.
