A year after the 27-year-old former Union striker came over from New York Red Bulls, he is almost gone again. AA Gent and Cercle are working on a rental deal, in which Cercle would take over part of the wages, as with Pieter Gerkens. As soon as everything is on paper, Vanzeir will travel to Cercle’s internship in Portugal.
However, Vanzeir immediately helped the Buffaloes with four goals and an assist to a place in the Champions’ Play-offs. However, these turned out disastrously for Ghent and after a poor first season match, Vanzeir was the victim.
