Dante Moore: NFL Draft Delay Explained

Quarterback Dante Moore is postponing his jump to the NFL for another season.

He made it known on the airwaves of ESPN that he would make a return with Oregon for the 2026 campaign. He is thus giving up on his presence in the NFL draft this spring and he will join a draft announced as promising at the quarterback position in 2027.

“All my life I have tried to be as prepared as possible for every situation. I want what’s best for my situation, especially as a quarterback,” he said, specifying in passing that he wanted to lead the Ducks to the National Championship.

Oregon thus establishes itself as a favorite for the next campaign after being dismissed by Indiana in the semi-final, whose quarterback Fernando Mendoza is tipped to be the first choice at the next NFL auction.

By delaying his selection by an NFL team, Moore has just ruled out a sum of around $50 million that could have possibly returned to him. Travis Hunter earned $46.65 million last season after being selected second overall by the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Moore only got 20 starts at the college level. He threw for 3,565 yards and 30 touchdowns last campaign.

According to the upcoming NFL Draft, the Vegas Raiders have the first right to go, followed by the New York Jets, Arizona Cardinals and Tennessee Titans.
