PSV is looking for reinforcements and is said to be looking at and has even made an offer for Alphadjo Cissè from Hellas Verona, currently on loan to Serie B club Catanzaro. According to data from SciSports in FootballTransfers PSV would be signing a player who has the potential to become the new Dani Olmo.
Cissè has a 99% agreement with the player Olmo. The club is clearly concerned with the present and bases its first team mainly on that. Yet it must also be concerned with the future. Cissè is a player who will be a very good reinforcement in the long term, but already has to cost millions as an attacking midfielder. With a Skill of 54.9, he is currently not an asset for PSV, but perhaps in the future given his 70.0 Potential.
Skill midfielders PSV
| Player | Skill | Potential |
|---|---|---|
| Joey Veerman | 71.8 | 72.7 |
| Jerdy Schouten | 66.0 | 66.0 |
| Isael | 65.3 | 69.1 |
| Paul Wanner | 63.0 | 75.7 |
Cissè the new Olmo?
Alphadjo Cissè is therefore clearly a long-term player who has the potential to grow to the level of Dani Olmo. Olmo currently has an 83.1 Skill and would currently be not only the best player in midfield or PSV, but in the entire Eredivisie. This is also where Cissè can grow, but this is not the only way in which he resembles his position mate at FC Barcelona.

De Skill en Potential by Alphadjo Cissè, Dani Olmo and Paul Wanner
Both Olmo and Cissè are mainly playing as a shadow striker behind the number nine at their clubs this season. At PSV this is Guus Till if Cissè were to come to PSV, at FC Barcelona this is often Ferran Torres or Robert Lewandowski (if fit). In addition, they can both play as deep playmakers in the opponent’s half.

However, there is also a challenge: PSV has already signed a great talent in Paul Wanner (75.7 Potential) in the position of attacking midfielder, who Cissè would have to compete for the same role. In other words: PSV seems to be making an attempt to have two talents for the same position, in the hope that this will increase the chance of success. The question is whether this will also be the case. However, the chance that they will both break through is small.
Cissè currently has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of 2.2 million euros, but it must therefore cost ten million euros. PSV has made an initial offer of six million euros for Cissè, who still has a contract until the summer of 2029. The Italian club can therefore ask whatever it wants, and this will probably amount to ten million euros. This season he has scored six goals and provided one assist in 21 matches at Catanzaro, where he is on loan. Whether he will come to PSV this winter remains to be seen. If he were to even come close to Olmo’s level, that would be a big victory for PSV.
