D. Ikaunieks: Lithuanian Championship & Sportazinas.com Role

Latvian striker Dāvis Ikaunieks will return to the Lithuanian football championship and join the Kaunas “Žalgiris” team, his previously represented RFS unit announced on Saturday.

Ikaunieks returned to the RFS last season in mid-June and played in 15 games, scoring one goal. Prior to that, he played for RFS in the 2019 season, scoring six goals and providing two assists in 12 Premier League games.

During his career, Ikaunieks represented the Czech clubs “Jablonec” and “Mlada Boleslav”, the Lithuanian “Šiauliai”, as well as the Bruneian club DPMM, which plays in the Singapore Premier League. Between these stages, Ikauniek also spent half a year as part of “Liepāja” in 2021.

In the 2024 season, Ikaunieks scored 18 goals and provided three assists in 34 games as part of Šiauliai.

The Lithuanian champion team “Žalgiris” previously also reported on the transfer of Japanese player Yukiyoshi Karashima from RFS to the Kaunas team.
