In the Czech Republic, since January 2021, we no longer use sticker coupons, but instead use electronic highway stamps, which we recommend buying exclusively at the official e-shop available, for example, from the addresses edalnice.cz, e-dalnice.cz or edalnice.gov.cz.
You can choose from daily (CZK 230), 10-day (CZK 300), monthly (CZK 480) and annual (CZK 2,570) highway stamps, the purchase is always tied to the given vehicle and its registration number (if you sell a car with a fresh annual stamp, you will not transfer it to your new car). But what if you lose the brand? For example, does it get damaged, someone steals it from you, you lose it or you simply change it?

Have you changed the license plate on your car? Your highway will be automatically converted from the original one to the new one as soon as the change is reflected in the register.
If you have a vehicle registered in the Czech Republic, after the change of registration mark is reflected in the vehicle register, the stamp will be transferred to the new registration mark automatically and free of charge. So you don’t have to solve anything, report anything, or pay anything.
If for some reason the change in the register is not overwritten or if you have a car registered outside the Czech Republic, it is possible to submit a “Notice of change of license plate number” on the edalnice.cz website and attach a copy of the document documenting the change of registration number within the same vehicle.

In the official e-shop, you can also change up to two characters of a purchased and already valid stamp to a registration mark free of charge, if you made a mistake when entering the mark during the purchase of the stamp, for example you wrote 8H0 5567 instead of 6H0 5567 or otherwise made a mistake.
Changing more than two characters on a valid (current) stamp is not possible, it is necessary to buy a new stamp there. However, it is possible to change the vehicle’s registration plate and state of registration once before the validity of the highway stamp. So, measure more than twice before triggering the validity of the stamp! Once the mark is running and you realize you’ve messed up more than two characters, there’s no (easy) way back.
