Cornelia Wintersberger Wins State Championship | [Sport] News

ENNS. At the Upper Austrian Badminton State Championships in Braunau in mid-January, the Enns badminton sport was able to look forward to receiving precious metal. Four ASKÖ Enns athletes faced competition from all over the state and returned with gold and silver.

The focus was on Cornelia Wintersberger, who won the national championship title in the women’s doubles 45 together with Elisabeth Rathenböck from Traun. Wintersberger also impressed in the mixed doubles 45: she reached second place with partner Wolfgang Untersperger from Traun.

The other Enns participants showed committed performances and played some close games, but narrowly missed out on a place on the podium.

ASKÖ-Enns chairman Michael Peter Giel was proud of the result: “I’m very happy about the national championship title for our club. Every week we train with a lot of passion and a lot of fun – it’s even nicer when this commitment is rewarded with precious metal.”
