Cornelia Wintersberger: Badminton State Champion | Enns

ENNS/BRAUNAU. The Upper Austrian State Championships in Braunau experienced a sporting and socially valuable weekend. Four players represented ASKÖ Enns Badminton and faced strong competition from across the state.

At the Upper Austrian State Championships in Braunau, Cornelia Wintersberger showed a remarkable performance. Wintersberger was able to win the national championship title in the women’s doubles 45 together with her partner Elisabeth Rathenböck from Traun. The two prevailed against a strong field of participants and deservedly won.

Mixed 45 competition

Wintersberger also showed her class in the Mixed 45 competition and achieved second place together with her partner Wolfgang Untersperger from Traun.

The other three participants from Enns fought courageously. Despite committed games and sometimes close decisions, they were unfortunately denied a place on the podium in their age groups this time. Nevertheless, they were able to gain valuable tournament experience and take important impulses with them for the current season.

National championship title

“I’m very happy for our club to win the national championship title. We train with a lot of passion and a lot of fun every week. It’s even nicer when this commitment is rewarded with precious metal,” said chairman Michael Peter Giel, proud of the achievements shown.
