According to data from Kantar Ibope Media obtained by VEJA, the game valid for the third round of Paulistão Casas Bahia recorded not only the biggest audience of the day, but was also the best Ibope of the year among all paid channels to date.
On Sunday, the channel was ahead of the AXN channel, which showed the series Criminal Minds during the broadcast of the game, registering an audience 16 times larger than the second placed team in the same time slot. The São Paulo clash surpassed the broadcast of the game between Barcelona x Real Madrid, in the final of the Spanish Super Cup, shown the previous Sunday, January 11, which had recorded the highest audience of 2026 so far.
Other Campeonato Paulista games shown by TNT on the same day helped the channel reach 1.6 million people and take the lead in the day’s consolidated results, with the disputes Red Bull Bragantino x Botafogo-SP and Guarani x Santos.
The numbers end up proving Paulistão’s appeal on pay TV, where TNT holds the rights to the tournament until 2029 to show selected matches.
