The negotiation was conducted between the football executives of the two clubs, Marcelo Paz, from Corinthians, and Rui Costa, from São Paulo. The final word on Timão’s part, however, belongs to president Osmar Stábile.
Even without immediate alternatives on the market to raise funds, the Corinthians board understands that it has already used all available sources to fulfill its commitments to the squad. Still, negotiation is not ruled out.
At Tricolor, business is taken for granted. Alison has even said goodbye to some people at the club and responds informally as a Timão athlete.
Search for resources
The idea is for the football department to join forces with the finance department to find solutions that make the agreement viable. A new round of negotiations with São Paulo is also not ruled out.
The São Paulo proposal by Alisson involves, in addition to the payment of R$ 1 million at entry, another R$ 500 thousand in installments from the second semester onwards, R$ 1.5 million if the midfielder completes 25 games — playing at least 45 minutes — and a fine of R$ 2 million for each match against Tricolor in which the player plays.
