Concarneau Badminton Club: Seeking New Venue

“We are very far from a sporting city…” Philippe Le Cam, president of the Olympic Badminton club of Concarneau (Bocc) does not mince his words. While it already feels like the poor relation of team and individual sports in terms of time slots, at the start of the year it lost the Saint-Joseph high school gymnasium, closed for renovation work. “Because of this, we are missing four training slots which were reserved mainly for our teams of senior competitors…” he laments.

“We approached the sports delegate to benefit from another municipal hall or other slots at the Porzou sports hall, but we received no response. We feel alone,” the president expresses worriedly. Bocc naturally turned to the Trégunois with whom it already shares some training sessions as well as the clubs of Saint-Évarzec and Melgven. “But we have to fend for ourselves. We need help from elected officials. It’s the least we can do,” calls Philippe Le Cam.
