No. 1-ranked team Arizona survived at No. 13 BYU on Monday to improve to 21-0, passing the baton to two undefeated teammates tonight.
Fifth-ranked Nebraska and No. 24 Miami (Ohio) have red as their primary color, but prefer to avoid it, as the saying goes. That would mean the Cornhuskers and/or RedHawks would be left with a 20-1 record.
The Big Ten game of the year (so far) kicks off the college basketball betting slate.
N° 5 NEBRAREA N.° 3 MICHIG, 7 pm
Michigan may have the lead in the poll, but Nebraska has the Big Ten lead by one game over a group that includes the once-blemished Wolverines.
This top-5 clash at the Crisler Center is shaping up to be the Cornhuskers’ biggest test yet as the program aims to build on its best ranking in history.
“We’re going to have to be perfect,” Nebraska coach Fred Hoiberg said. “In the end, that’s what it takes to play a team like this, to give yourself a chance. And that still may not be enough. This team we’re facing is that good.”
Naturally, the Huskers aren’t bad either, with the longest winning streak in the country (24 games, dating back to last season) and a front line with double-digit scorers like Pryce Sandfort (17.3 points per game), Rienk Mast (14.6) and Braden Frager (12.2).
However, Frager (ankle) is day to day, and Michigan responds with its own size, 6-foot-5 Yaxel Lendeborg, who leads the team in scoring (14.4) and rebounding (7.2). There are also forward Morez Johnson Jr., 2.05 meters tall, and center Aday Mara, 2.19 meters tall, with an average of 10.9 points or more each.
Michigan is expected to prevail in a close game thanks to its combination of size and long-range efficiency. Elliot Cadeau and Johnson Jr. have at least 40% accuracy on three-pointers, although Sandfort is the most accurate shooter on the court (41.7%).
Nebraska, a 10.5-point underdog, covered the spread the only other time an opponent was favored by at least that many points this season.

PROVIDENCE in the N.st 2 of UCONN, 7:30 pm
The UConn sports website pulled no punches with its headline anticipating this: “No. 2 UConn Hosts Providence for $2 Miller Lite Night.”
What humanity! And what madness will take over the seniors at Gampel Pavilion cheering on the Huskies during a study break!
It’s a sizable margin in UConn’s favor, but the surging Huskies have won their last three games by just 15 points and needed overtime to beat host Providence less than three weeks ago.

MASSACHUSETTS en el N.° 24 MIAMI (OHIO), 9 p. m.
Last week, Miami (Ohio) rose to its first Associated Press Top 25 poll since Feb. 15, 1999, around the time this prognosticator reached the peak of his awkwardness at eighth-grade reunions.
Like the girls of that era, the RedHawks remain undefeated, although they have had some tough times in overtime against Buffalo and at Kent State in the last two games.
Buoyed by a deep backline led by Brant Byers (15.3 points per game) and Peter Suder (14.1), the RedHawks have five active players averaging more than ten points per game and another, Luke Skaljac (9.0), who is approaching that threshold. Suder and Skaljac have seen increased minutes since guard Evan Ipsaro suffered a season-ending torn ACL last month, helping Miami reach triple digits in three straight games and set a program record seven times this season.
However, UMass stands out for its ability to avoid mixups, ranking fourth in the 13-team Mid-American Conference with 74.2 points allowed per game. The Minutemen defeated Buffalo 68-67 on Friday, six days after the RedHawks beat the Bulls 105-102 in overtime, with Jayden Ndjigue recording multiple steals for the fourth straight game.
Miami (Ohio) continues to make references to Wally Szczerbiak, but this will not be a shootout.
