In its quest for a center forward and despite several failures (Chérif, Ajorque, Dzeko, Maupay), Paris FC did not remain… still. After casting a very wide net, he is preparing to recruit a big name in European football, the Italian Ciro Immobile who will turn 36 in February. As announced Friday evening by Fabrizio Romano, transfer window specialist, information that we can confirm, an agreement has been reached between Paris FC and its Bologna club.
If everything is not yet completely settled, Immobile’s signing should be finalized during the weekend after his medical examination. An important step since he suffered a thigh injury on the first day and has only been able to play six Serie A matches since his return in December.
Goal machine
But he remained on a season with 15 goals with Besiktas in the Turkish championship. Having played for major Italian clubs (Lazio Rome, Juventus, Torino, Genoa, Pescara) and European clubs (Dortmund, Sevilla FC), Immobile has always been a goal machine, with nearly 400 goals in his rich career.
He holds some records such as that of top scorer in the history of Lazio Rome, or top scorer in Serie A over a season (36 with Gonzalo Higuain). Immobile has also won the Serie A top scorer trophy 4 times (2014, 2018, 2020, 2022) and was European Golden Shoe in 2020.
With the Italian selection (57 caps, 17 goals), he was crowned European champion in 2021. Immobile will now try to score goals in Ligue 1 and contribute to the maintenance of Paris FC where the leading attackers (Krasso, Geubbels) are in difficulty. But it’s a huge CV that will land in the French championship.
