2025 Shanghai Yangtze River Half Marathon
On March 30, the 2025 Shanghai Yangtze River Half Marathon started with excitement in Chenjia Town. This event attracted more than 5,000 runners from 15 countries around the world and 22 provinces and cities in China.
2025 Guangming Tahara IRONMAN 70.3 Shanghai Chongming Station
On May 25, the 2025 Guangming Tianyuan IRONMAN 70.3 Shanghai Chongming Station was held in Guangming Tianyuan, Chongming District, Shanghai. This event attracted 1,310 players from 48 countries and regions including France, the United Kingdom, the United States, Singapore, and China.
2025 China National Fitness Walking (Running) Competition (Shanghai・Chongming Station)
On June 28, the 2025 China National Fitness Walking (Running) Competition (Shanghai-Chongming Station) National City Linkage Relay and the Chinese Entrepreneurs Torch Relay Healthy Run kicked off in Miao Town, Chongming District.
2025 “Belt and Road” China Dragon 3X3 International Invitational Tournament
From June 7th to 8th, the 2025 “Belt and Road” China Dragon 3X3 International Invitational Tournament kicked off at the Dongping National Forest Park in Chongming.
On July 26-27, the 2025 “Belt and Road” China Dragon 3×3 International Invitational Tournament (Hengsha Station) concluded successfully on Hengsha Island.
2025 season Chinese Men’s 3-person Basketball Super League Chongming Division
From August 7th to 8th, the 2025 Chinese Men’s Basketball Super League Chongming Division was held at the Hengsha Township Citizen Fitness Center. 8 top teams from all over the country competed on the same field.
2025 FIBA 3×3 Basketball Shanghai Masters
From September 27th to 28th, the 2025 FIBA 3-person Basketball Shanghai Masters was successfully held. The competition brought together 14 Chinese and foreign teams to present a basketball feast where speed, technology and power collide.
2025 UCI Women’s Road World Tour Tour of Chongming Island
From October 14th to 16th, the 2025 UCI Women’s Road World Tour Tour of Chongming Island was successfully held. Nearly a hundred professional riders from all over the world competed on a track with a total length of 348.6 kilometers.
2025 China “Legend” Challenge and National Youth Canoeing U Series League (Shanghai Chongming Station)
From October 17th to 19th, the 2025 China “Legend” Challenge and the National Youth Canoe U Series League (Shanghai Chongming Station) were held in the beautiful Shanghai Chongming Guangming Tianyuan.

The 8th Shanghai (Chongming) Leisure Sports Conference
From August 24 to November 16, 2025, the 8th Shanghai (Chongming) Leisure Sports Conference was successfully held. During the conference, many special events such as the Yangtze River Delta Kayak Water Marathon Competition, Tai Chi Competition, TREK100 and Tour of Chongming Island Road Cycling Open, Field Landlord Fight, Youth Obstacle Challenge, National Defense Sports Invitational Competition, Archery Challenge, “Chongyue Tongmeng” All-round Fun Challenge, Dongtan Cycling Carnival, etc. were successively held, attracting a total of 12,000 participants. Over 80% of participants were from outside the island, achieving a new high in the scale and influence of the event.

New Year’s Day Healthy Run and New Year’s Winter Swimming Activities
On January 1, 2025, the Chongming District New Year’s Day Healthy Run was held at Wanda Plaza. Nearly 300 family members and sports-loving citizens participated in the event.
On the same day, Chongming District celebrated the 30th “National Winter Swimming Day” and the 2025 New Year’s Winter Swimming event was held in Chongming’s Laoliang River. More than 130 winter swimming enthusiasts from Chongming, Fengxian, Yangpu, Pudong and other districts participated in the event.
The 10th Chongming “Yingzhou Cup” Social Football Competition
From May 11 to June 21, 2025, the 10th Chongming “Yingzhou Cup” social football competition of the “Dongping National Forest Park Cup” was held at the Fusheng Football Stadium in Xinhe Town. A total of 27 teams and more than 500 football enthusiasts participated. It lasted a month and completed 10 match days with a total of 53 exciting contests.
Shanghai Shore Fishing Lure Championship
On May 11, the 2025 Shanghai Urban Amateur League “Shanghai Shore Fishing Lure Championship” opened with great enthusiasm at the Yingyu Dongtan Outdoor Camp in Chenjia Town, Chongming. 100 fishing enthusiasts gathered at the event site.
The 72nd East China Fishing Competition
From May 16 to 18, the 72nd East China Fishing Competition of the 2025 Shanghai Urban Amateur League and the “Health Cup” Shanghai Seniors Fishing Competition was held at the Yingyu Dongtan Outdoor Camp in Chenjia Town. 40 teams from the East China Fishing Cooperation Zone and all over the country participated.
Shanghai Harmony Country Basketball Tournament
On May 18th and 30th, the 2025 Dadi Liucai·Shanghai Hemei Rural Basketball Tournament was held at the basketball court of Baozhen Citizen Park, attracting a total of 12 teams from various agricultural-related districts, village secretaries, and agricultural science and technology personnel in Shanghai to participate.
Chongming District National Fitness Competition
On August 8, the 2025 Chongming District National Fitness Competition and Shanghai Citizen Culture Festival Dance Competition (Chongming Division) was successfully held at the Baozhen Citizen Fitness Center. Multiple teams from 15 towns in the district participated.
The 64th “Martyrs Cup” Basketball Game in Chongming
From August 12 to 16, 2025, the 64th Chongming “Martyrs Cup” basketball competition was successfully held, attracting 28 teams and more than 340 athletes from the region to participate.
Chongming Clay Tennis Open
From September 6th to 7th, the 2025 Shanghai Urban Amateur League Tennis League Chongming Clay Tennis Open S1000 was successfully held at Chaoda Clay Tennis Club in Qianwei Village.
Chongming District Table Tennis Competition
From October 18th to 19th, the 2025 Chongming District Table Tennis Competition was successfully held at the Chongming District Gymnasium, attracting more than 120 table tennis enthusiasts from 22 representative teams and more than 40 players from 12 team teams of government officials to participate.
Shanghai Kite Open
On October 25, the 2025 Shanghai Kite Open of the Shanghai Urban Amateur League was successfully completed at Chongming Dongtan Wetland Park.
The 8th Chongming District Winter Long Distance Running Competition and the 2025 Chongming Employees Winter Long Distance Running Competition
On December 14, the 8th Chongming District Winter Long-Distance Race and the 2025 Chongming Employee Winter Long-Distance Race kicked off passionately at CPIC Home·Shanghai Chongming International Nursing Community. Nearly 800 road running enthusiasts participated.
Youth pursues dreams, young strength grows
Youth badminton competition
On March 8, 9, and 16, 2025, the three-day Chongming District Youth Badminton Competition concluded successfully at the Stars Badminton Hall. A total of 25 schools signed up to participate, 154 people participated in the individual competition, and 161 people participated in the team competition.
Youth table tennis competition
From March 22 to 23, the 2025 Chongming District Youth Table Tennis Competition was held at the Shanghai Xincheng Table Tennis Club. More than 200 table tennis players from 18 primary schools, junior high schools, and high schools in the district participated.

From May 24th to 25th, the 2025 Chongming District Youth Basketball Competition (Primary School Group) was held at the Basketball Hall of Chongming District Huiming School Affiliated to Shanghai World Foreign Languages Education. The event attracted 16 teams from 10 primary schools in the district.
Chongming District Youth Basketball Competition (Junior High School Group)
From October 25th to 27th, the 2025 Chongming District Youth Basketball Competition (Junior High School Group) was held at the basketball hall of Huiming School in Chongming District, attracting 21 male and female basketball teams from 13 schools in the district to participate.
Chongming District 3-player Youth Football Match (Primary School Group)
On November 30, the 2025 Chongming District three-person youth football match (primary school group) kicked off with excitement at the Fusheng Football Stadium in Xinhe Town. The match attracted 27 teams from 14 primary schools in the district.
Chongming District Youth Cycling Competition (Primary School Group)
On December 6, the 2025 Chongming District Youth Cycling Competition (primary school group) kicked off at the district stadium, with 300 athletes from 17 primary schools in the district participating.
Chongming District Youth Winter Long Distance Running
On December 20, the 2025 Chongming District Youth Winter Long-distance Running Competition officially kicked off in Guangming Tianyuan. More than 500 young athletes from 56 primary and secondary schools in the district participated.
The beauty of integration and development extends beyond the playing field
During major events, Chongming organizes carnival activities and investment promotion meetings in conjunction with its own unique supporting facilities, links business districts, hotels, scenic spots and B&Bs to explore the “ticket economy” and cultivates a new consumption trend of “traveling with the event and following the food and products of the event”. In 2025, Chongming’s four key international and domestic events will directly drive an economic impact of 174 million yuan, realizing a new integrated development pattern of “sports setting the stage, culture, tourism, merchants and farmers performing”.
