Chanac Archers Compete: Nîmes Tournament 2026

The Nîmes Archery Tournament 2026 has closed its doors after a crazy weekend. From January 16 to 18, Nîmes became the world capital of archery. No less than 1,360 archers, from 48 nations, gathered to compete in the only round of the indoor World Cup organized in France.

Two archers from Chanac entered in the Nîmes Archery Tournament 2026

Two archers from the Chanac club represented Lozère: Sébastien Criquet and Gaëtan Velay, entered in men’s recurve archery.

Beyond the stratospheric scores achieved by the world elite during this edition, the Chanacois delivered very good performances. In the general classification, among the 234 archers entered in their category, Gaëtan Velay ranks 113th with a score of 552 points, while Sébastien Criquet finishes 149th with 533 points.

These results did not allow them to reach the finals of the main tournament, but opened the doors to the secondary tournament. Sébastien Criquet finished in 35th place, while Gaëtan Velay ranked 41st in their group.

The two archers completed a high-quality competition, which allowed them to shoot alongside the best archers in the world at the moment and to gain valuable experience in view of the upcoming events, which promise to be very exciting.
