Champions League: PSG vs Monaco – Play-off Preview

There are only two French clubs left in the Champions League and, after the play-offs, there will only be one left. This Friday in Nyon (Switzerland), at UEFA headquarters, the draw decided on a 100% tricolor poster between Paris Saint-Germain and AS Monaco.

The capital club, 11th in the final ranking after its disappointing draw on Wednesday evening against Newcastle (1-1), could fall either on the Monegasques (21st) or on the Azerbaijani club Qarabag (22nd). It was therefore Monaco which was favored by the boules, while Qarabag will face Newcastle, who finished 12th.

After Brest last season, PSG once again finds a French club at this stage of the competition. After the play-offs, a new draw will take place to decide the opponent of the winner of this confrontation in the round of 16: it will be either FC Barcelona or Chelsea.

Like last season, Paris will travel in the first leg (February 17 or 18) and host the return match (February 24 or 25). The match schedule will be published this Friday evening by UEFA.
