The match between Hapoel Holon and Trapani Shark in the BCL ended 38-5 and lasted barely seven minutes. Trapani is experiencing serious financial problems and saw many players leave, including Timothy Allen (ex-Oostende). As a result, the Italian club appeared in the SamElyon Arena in Bulgaria with only five players. By showing up, Trapani avoided a fine of 600,000 euros.
Among the five players were two youth players making their professional debut. But it became a mock match. After seven minutes, Trapani only had one player left on the field. Cappelletti, Rossato and Pugliatti left the field after five minutes due to alleged injuries. And after Patti committed his fifth personal foul, only youth player Francesco Martinelli remained.
If a team is left with less than two players, it means a forfeit. After all, it can no longer be thrown in or received. According to FIBA regulations, this means immediate exclusion from the competition in the Champions League play-offs, meaning Hapoel Holon advances to the 1/8th finals.
