Continuing its claim in the Turkish Basketball League, Çayırova Municipality Basketball Team achieved a significant success in the Federation Cup. Our representative defeated OGM Ormanspor 87-86 after a breathtaking fight in the quarter-finals and made its way to the semi-finals. While the last moments of the match witnessed great excitement, the victory came with free throws. Çayırova Municipality Basketball Team will face off against Bandırma Bordo Basketball in the semi-finals to be played on January 16.
WIN IN THE FIRST EXAM WITH HIS NEW COACH
Çayırova Municipality Basketball Team, which changed its head coach during the week, had its first serious test under the management of its new coach Ender Aslan. The team started the match with the starting five of Can Uğur Öğüt, Roberto Gallinat, Ömer Utku Al, Berkay Candan and Nysier Brooks, and although they closed the first period trailing 26-27, they took control of the game in the second quarter. Our representative entered the locker room with a 54-52 lead and, with the support of the fans, widened the gap in the third period. Çayırova Municipality Basketball Team, which was ahead 74-68 in this section, had a tough test in the last period.
BACK IN THE LAST 45 SECONDS
Çayırova Municipality Basketball Team, which fell behind in the last part of the match, reduced the difference to one with Gallinat’s three-pointer with 45 seconds left. Our representative, who took good advantage of the opponent OGM Ormanspor’s return from the attack empty-handed, took the lead and won the match thanks to the coolness of Nysier Brooks, who came to the free throw line in the last 14 seconds. Brooks, who showed a superior performance throughout the match, became the architect of the victory with 27 points. Gallinat contributed to the score with 26 points and Ömer Utku Al with 11 points.

Çayırova Municipality Basketball Team, which won the tough match, came one step closer to the final of the Federation Cup. Our representative, who will face Bandırma Bordo Basketball in the semi-finals, will take to the court at the Basketball Development Center on Friday, January 16. Making a statement after the match, Çayırova Mayor Bünyamin Çiftçi said, “I congratulate our team for beating Ormanspor in the Federation Cup Quarter-Final match and making it to the semi-finals.”
