CAN 2025: Morocco & Senegal – Semi-Final Picture Emerging

In the first two quarter-finals of this CAN 2025, no surprises or drama: Senegal and Morocco, favorites, defeated Mali and Cameroon without much trembling to qualify for the semi-finals of the competition.

Earlier in the day, it was a dominant Senegal who dismissed a clumsy Mali, in a match which ended in a victory by the smallest of margins for the Super Eagles (0-1) thanks to a goal from Ndiaye. In the evening, Morocco, at home, dominated Cameroon thanks to the inevitable Brahim Diaz and Ismael Saibari (0-2).

Each on one side of the table, Senegalese and Moroccans will therefore be able to wait, calmly, to know the identity of their respective opponents. The last two quarter-finals will be played this Saturday, at 5 p.m. and 8 p.m.: in one, Algeria will face Nigeria while in the other, Egypt will face Ivory Coast.

The winner of the first poster will earn the right to play an electric semi-final against Morocco, on their home soil. Of course, the entire Maghreb dreams of a local semi-final, between Algerian and Moroccan neighbors, but Nigeria will want to shatter this dream. For its part, Senegal will look with interest at the meeting between the Pharaohs and the Elephants.
