A possible loan transfer for Borussia Dortmund’s offensive player Julien Duranville is getting closer. They are in discussions, said BVB managing director Lars Ricken, who was asked about FC Basel’s interest in the Belgian.

The 19-year-old is now “at an age where he has to play. He’s not 16 or 17 anymore. But we haven’t progressed so far that he wouldn’t be there today,” explained Ricken at Dortmund Airport. From there the Bundesliga club traveled with Duranville to the Champions League game at Tottenham Hotspur.
As “Sky” recently reported, Basel is putting pressure on the left winger to be signed. There are direct discussions with Borussia about a loan. A solution should be reached promptly. For Duranville it’s about not letting go of the slim chance of playing in the World Cup with Belgium. He has so far made two short appearances for the Red Devils’ senior team in September 2024.
BVB boss about Prates: “We know him very well”
Ricken also spoke about the 17-year-old Brazilian Kauã Prates, who is about to move to BVB in the summer. “We know the player. We know him quite well,” said the 49-year-old about the left-back. Ricken also pointed out that it was just a rumor and that they had decided not to give “water level reports” on everything.

According to reports, BVB and EC Cruzeiro Belo Horizonte are in advanced discussions. It is expected that an overall transfer package of 12 million to 13 million euros will be agreed upon. Prates himself agreed to a contract until 2031.
