Pepe Mel is back on the bench. The Madrid coach has recently signed for the Tangier Ittihad until 2028, thus beginning a new stage in his career away from Spanish football. “Here we have been lucky to be able to prepare the team in advance and not have to take it and play a game in three days”he assured during an extensive interview in Night Radio Stadium.
The club’s objective is clear… and so is the coach’s. “If the team manages to get the category without problems it would be a success”he explains. Furthermore, during the interview, the Spanish coach touched on several current topics and recalled an anecdote related to Real Madrid and the Canarian midfielderwhen it had not yet exploded into the elite
“Madrid came to monitor him”the technician explained, before revealing a conversation with Emilio Butragueño. According to the coach, the white club told him that they had already seen Pedri and that they considered that “I was not a player for Madrid”a phrase that is especially striking today. “I spoke with Butragueño about Pedri and he told me that they had told him at the club that they had already seen him and that he was not a player for Madrid”he explained.
