Departure on the 4th… Anchorage, Nome, Las Vegas 4 nights and 7 days itinerary
Busan Mayor Park Hyeong-jun will embark on a 4-night, 7-day tour of three U.S. cities (Anchorage, Nome, and Las Vegas) from the 4th to the 10th.
Mayor Park Hyeong-jun will visit Anchorage and Nome, Alaska on the 5th and 6th local time to strengthen the cooperation network with Alaska, the North American Arctic base.
First, the Busan-Anchorage City Friendship Cooperation City Agreement signing ceremony will be held at Anchorage City Hall on the morning of the 5th. The two cities plan to use this agreement as an opportunity to build practical cooperative relationships in various fields such as ports and logistics, tourism, energy resources, and human exchanges.
On the afternoon of the same day, Mayor Park will visit the Governor of Alaska and exchange opinions on the possibility of economic and industrial cooperation between Busan City and the State of Alaska. In addition, in order to explore the possibility of logistics cooperation in connection with the Northern Sea Route, we plan to visit Anchorage Port to examine the port operation status and logistics base (infrastructure).
On the 6th, they will visit the city of Nome, Alaska, which is attracting attention as a key stop on the Northern Sea Route, and meet with the mayor of Nome and Port Management Committee officials, and discuss ways to expand exchanges between cities in the Arctic region and cooperate to secure a base for the Northern Sea Route.
Next, we will visit the Nome deep-sea port development site, a key project that the Trump administration is pursuing to strengthen its leadership in the Arctic region, examine the operating conditions and future development trends of ports near the Bering Strait, and explore Busan’s strategic role and direction of cooperation in preparation for the revitalization of the Northern Sea Route.
Starting on the 7th, we will visit ‘CES 2026’, the world’s largest home appliance and information technology (IT) exhibition held in Las Vegas, to check the latest trends in the global technology industry.
Next, they plan to visit Allegiant Stadium, the home stadium of the American professional football (NFL) team Las Vegas Raiders, and exchange opinions with the president of the Raiders team on strategies to expand the tourism and cultural industries using sports content.
Mayor Park Hyeong-jun emphasized, “Cooperation with Anchorage, a logistics base in the Arctic region, and securing global cutting-edge technology through ‘CES’ will be a significant turning point for Busan to leap forward as a ‘global hub city.'”
