In the 10th minute, Emre Can (10th) converted a penalty kick and put Dortmund in the lead. In the second half, Nico Schlotterbeck (53rd) and Maximilian Beier (84th) followed up.
BVB can consolidate its second place in the table and is getting closer to the league leaders FC Bayernwho suffered their first defeat of the season against Augsburg in the afternoon, down to eight points.
FC Bayern – FC Augsburg 1:2 (1:0)
The league leaders FC Bayern have in the home game against FC Augsburg Lost 1:2. The Augsburg team is ending Bayern’s winning streak of 27 unbeaten league games in a row.
Defender Hiroki Ito gave Bayern the lead in the first half (23′). But Arthur Chaves (75th) and Han-Noah Massengo (81st) turned the game around for Augsburg. With their derby win, FC Augsburg rises to 13th place in the table.
Eintracht Frankfurt – TSG Hoffenheim 1:3 (1:0)
Eintracht Frankfurt lost 1:3 against third-placed Hoffenheim. After a goal from Arnaud Kalimuendo for Eintracht (18th), Hoffenheim turned the game around with goals from Max Moerstedt (52nd) and Ozan Kabak (60th).
After an own goal from Aurèle Amenda (65th), the game was decided. For Hoffenheim it was the first win against Frankfurt in almost ten years.
1. FSV Mainz 05 – VfL Wolfsburg 3:1 (0:1)
1. FSV Mainz 05 defeated VfL Wolfsburg 3-1 (0-1) in their home game. Mohamed Amoura gave Wolfsburg the lead in the third minute. With the penalty kick (22nd), Phillip Tietz initially missed the equalizer for Mainz. But then Tietz (68th), Stefan Bell (72nd) and Nadiem Amiri (83rd, hand penalty according to video evidence) turned the game around for 1. FSV Mainz 05.
With its victory, Mainz leaves the direct relegation places in the Bundesliga and moves up to 16th place in the table.
1. FC Heidenheim – RB Leipzig 0:3 (0:0)
RB Leipzig won their away game at 1. FC Heidenheim 3-0. After a goalless first half, Ridle Baku (62′), Antonio Nusa (68′) and David Raum (70′) scored in just eight minutes to secure victory for Leipzig.
As a result of the defeat, 1. FC Heidenheim slipped back to last place in the table.
Bayer 04 Leverkusen – SV Werder Bremen 1:0 (1:0)
With a goal from Lucas Vázquez (37th), Bayer 04 Leverkusen defeated SV Werder Bremen 1-0 (1-0). This meant Leverkusen got their first competitive win this year. Bremen remain without a win for the eighth league game in a row.
