1. FSV Mainz 05 celebrated its first Bundesliga victory under coach Urs Fischer. The 2-1 (1-0) against 1. FC Heidenheim was also the first win after twelve games without a win and the first home game win for Rheinhessen since February 2025.

Silvan Widmer (30th minute) and Nadiem Amiri (48th) scored the goals for Mainz. Stefan Schimmer (60th) scored for the guests. Thanks to the better goal difference, Mainz finished the first half of the season at least 17th in the table. Heidenheim is last.

VfB Stuttgart – Eintracht Frankfurt 3:2 (2:1)

VfB Stuttgart has once again set an example in the fight for the Champions League. Coach Sebastian Hoeneß’s team defeated their direct competitor Eintracht Frankfurt 3:2 (2:1).

Frankfurt initially took the lead thanks to an early goal from Rasmus Kristensen (5th). After a serious mistake by goalkeeper Kauã Santos, returnees Ermedin Demirović (27th) and Deniz Undav (35th) turned the game around within just nine minutes. Ten minutes before the end of regular time, Ayoube Amaimouni-Echghouyab equalized for the guests (80th), before Nikolas Terkelsen Nartey scored Stuttgart’s winning goal shortly before the end (87th).

Demirović, who had already made a short appearance in Leverkusen after a foot injury, started again for the first time since October 6th. Eintracht had to do without the ailing Can Uzun and the ill Hugo Larsson and Nene Brown. In addition, Younes Ebnoutalib was out from the 20th minute. The winter signing injured his right knee after a quarter of an hour in a duel with Jeff Chabot.

Borussia Dortmund and Werder Bremen as well as 1. FSV Mainz 05 and 1. FC Heidenheim are currently meeting. The game between Hamburger SV and Bayer 04 Leverkusen was canceled a few hours before kick-off due to weather.
