The supervisory board of the HSV Fußball Management AG has issued a statement on the current media reports surrounding the separation of board member Stefan Kuntz. As the control committee announced, the supervisory board received serious allegations against Kuntz in December 2025. External lawyers were then immediately called in and a comprehensive investigation was initiated.
After careful examination, the supervisory board said it came to the conclusion that the allegations were credible and decided to quickly separate from Kuntz. The protection of those affected was the top priority. Kuntz agreed to the termination of the employment relationship on December 31, 2025 and was represented by a lawyer, the committee said.
In its statement, the HSV supervisory board rejected allegations of a “slander campaign” against Kuntz and described them as inaccurate and misleading. The club emphasized that it would not tolerate any misconduct and was clearly committed to the values of tolerance and respect. The focus remains on protecting the personal rights of those affected.
Kuntz rejects allegations
Previously it had Bild reported allegations by HSV employees against the 63-year-old. According to the report, the allegations of sexual harassment were the actual reason for the surprising termination of his contract.
The former national player contradicted the allegations in the context of his sudden departure as sports director of Hamburger SV. In a statement on the 63-year-old’s official Instagram profile it said: “First of all, I would like to say that the allegations hit me hard. One thing is clear: I firmly reject these allegations!”
Kuntz also said that he had called in his lawyers “in the interests of my family and everyone close to me.” According to Kuntz, they should take action “against these false accusations and previous convictions”.
