NBA game is canceled due to too much water on the court
The Bulls’ home game against Miami Heat cannot take place as planned. The reason is unusual.
Even the efforts of the cleaning staff were not enough and the game had to be postponed.

This has rarely been seen: Die NBA-Party between the Chicago Bulls and Miami Heat has been canceled for an unusual reason. The referees deemed the parquet at the United Center unplayable after complaints from basketball professionals because of the damp condition. For 90 minutes, helpers tried in vain to get the pitch dry with towels and mops.
The day before, an ice hockey game by the NHL club Chicago Blackhawks had taken place in the Bulls arena. It was unusually warm in Chicago recently, combined with the hockey game the problem arose. It was said that this resulted in strong condensation on the parquet, which made it impossible to play the game safely.
After two hours of waiting, the game was canceled.

“Players from both teams complained, we all immediately agreed that the field was unplayable,” said Miami head coach Erik Spoelstra. And further: “We all left it and realized pretty quickly that it wasn’t playable.”
The players had previously warmed up as usual. The game was canceled for the evening after a wait of almost two hours. The NBA said a replacement date will be announced at a later date. Insider circles say that the Tuesday before the All-Star weekend (February 12) is probably the most likely date.
Such a cancellation due to warm weather combined with an event on ice has already happened twice: in the 2016/17 season, Minneapolis and Philadelphia were affected.
But still the record for Rick Carlisle
After 13 defeats in a row, the Indiana Pacers have won another game. Indiana head coach Rick Carlisle was particularly pleased with the 114:112 away win against the Charlotte Hornets. For him it was the 1,000th win of his NBA career.

Only ten other head coaches in NBA history have also reached the 1,000 career win mark. Indiana’s Pascal Siakam became the match winner with 30 points and the decisive basket eleven seconds before the end of the game.
