Club Brugge has been waiting for a long time for a complete and definitive green light for the construction of a new stadium. The Council of State has made an important decision.
Le Nieuwsblad tells us this Tuesday that the Council of State has made a decision regarding the file for the future stadium of Club Bruges. From the club side, we apparently hear that this would be a positive decision, and therefore a very important step for the future.
The Council of State had two files on its table concerning the FC Bruges stadium. The first concerned the appeal of several local residents against the municipal decision of the city of Bruges authorizing the construction of the future stadium.
Will Club Brugge finally have a new stadium?
That the Council of State apparently decides to dismiss this complaint is a relief to Club Brugge because otherwise everything would have had to be done again. The Council of State also had to take into account the call from other local residents concerning, this time, parking: the Club had to be authorized to use certain parking lots already in place in order to set up shuttles to the future stadium.
On this level, the Council of State would have decided to go in the direction of the complainants, a decision that the Club would however have anticipated and which will not pose a problem for future projects.
