Brazão on Santos Derby Loss & Future Improvement

Gabriel Brazão downplayed Santos’s 1-0 defeat to Palmeiras at Arena Barueri on Wednesday and voiced confidence the team will progress in the Campeonato Paulista. According to Globo.com, the goalkeeper felt the side performed well, noted limited time on the training ground, and said he is sure they will improve. He also highlighted it was only their second match in 10 days since returning.

The squad reports back on Thursday at 16:00 at CT Rei Pelé to begin preparations for Guarani in the third round. The match is scheduled for Sunday at 20:30, Brasília time, at Brinco de Ouro da Princesa in Campinas.

Thursday’s session is expected to be light, with recovery work for those who started against Palmeiras. On Friday, head coach Juan Pablo Vojvoda is set to begin sketching a probable XI.

A final training session is planned for Saturday afternoon before the trip to Campinas, where the group will remain in camp for the game.

Vojvoda has three absentees. Attacking midfielder Neymar is recovering from arthroscopy on his left knee, forward Tiquinho Soares is treating oedema in his left calf, and midfielder Gabriel Bontempo is out with oedema in his left hamstring.
