Double departure at Eintracht Braunschweig: The second division team said goodbye to Mohamed Dräger for Tunisia, while Christian Conteh is likely to move to 1. FC Heidenheim in the Bundesliga. The 29-year-old right-back is moving to his home country to Esperance Tunis before his contract, which runs until the summer, expires. The Freiburg-born professional came from FC Basel in January 2025 and has since only made five appearances lasting 177 minutes.

According to “Sky”, the transfer of winger Conteh to Heidenheim is now in progress. The 26-year-old is due to complete his medical check-up on Monday and after his signature he will play alongside his brother Sirlord Conteh (29).

Heidenheim pays millions for Braunschweig’s Christian Conteh

According to the pay-TV broadcaster, Christian Conteh (contract until 2026) is expected to cost the relegation-threatened FCH 1.5 million euros including bonus payments. The Hamburg native has a contract until 2029. Conteh moved from VfL Osnabrück to Braunschweig on a free transfer in July 2024 and delivered five goals and five assists in 35 games. Since last summer, he has increased his market value in two steps from 500,000 to 800,000 euros as a result of a strong first half of the season.

Conteh would be Heidenheim’s second new signing in the winter after Hoffenheim’s Hennes Behrens (20), who was signed on loan without a purchase option as a replacement for the injured left-back Leart Paçarada (31).
