STOKE ON TRENT – Slovak football representative Róbert Boženík, after his painful New Year’s injury, thanked Stoke City fans for their support and told them that he wants to return to the pitch even stronger.
In Thursday’s Championship match, he scored his team’s 1-0 win at Hull City, but left the pitch with a dislocated shoulder and tears in his eyes.
Boženík scored in the 39th minute and it was his first strike in his 21st competitive appearance in the shirt of the English second division team after his summer transfer from Boavista Porto. However, shortly after the change of sides, he unfortunately fell on his shoulder and needed oxygen to relieve the pain during the long treatment directly on the lawn. He immediately went to the hospital from the stadium. The exact length of his absence is not yet known, stokesentinel.co.uk reminded.
After his injury, the 26-year-old attacker sent a message to his fans on the social network: “I’m happy and grateful to start the new year with three points and my first goal for Stoke City, but at the same time I’m disappointed with my injury. It’s a new challenge for me and I’ll do my best to come back stronger. Thank you so much for all the messages and positive energy.”
Bozenik breaking his little heart is so sad, he’s played so well.
