Bills vs. Jaguars: Score & Highlights – NFL 2024

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen managed to get rid of a huge complex by leading his team to victory on the road in the playoffs for the first time in his career, winning at the last minute 27-24 over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.

Since the start of his career, Allen had never managed to make his team triumph on enemy territory in his four previous attempts.

With big names like Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow and Lamar Jackson out of the loop, the door is open for Allen to write his own story. In light of the outcome of today’s game, Allen’s book will not remain just an introduction and he can now begin to tackle his second chapter. However, he will have to wait before knowing his rivals in the second round.

The Bills’ last playoff victory on an opposing field was in 1992.

Allen was the story of the game, but it came close to repeating itself for him. Trailing by four points with a little over a minute left in the fourth and in a fourth down situation, the Bills quarterback managed, not without the help of his teammates who were pushing him, to get the ball to the goal line.

On the next play, Allen himself finished the job with a one-yard run to give the Bills the final lead, but the outcome of the game was not yet sealed as the Jaguars were able to recover the ball for a final series on offense, which finally came to an end when Cole Bishop intercepted a pass from Trevor Lawrence to achieve this victory.

The defense of both teams dominated the first three quarters before seeing the offense regain its rights in the last quarter, which was marked by four touchdowns for a total of 28 points.

Leading 13-10 after 45 minutes of play, the Bills saw the Jaguars regain control of the game when Lawrence connected with Parker Washington for six yards to make it 17-13.

Allen then passed to Dalton Kincaid for 15 yards to make it 20-17 for the Bills. But like boxers responding blow for blow, Lawrence then passed 14 yards to Travis Etienne Jr. for a touchdown, which put the Jaguars ahead by four points, forcing Buffalo to stake their destiny with a major to advance to the second playoff round.

We know the rest of the story, with Allen managing to take the plunge.
