ORCHARD PARK, NY — The new coach of the Buffalo Bills, Joe Bradyexpressed his support for the wide receiver Keon Coleman, stating that, “Keon Coleman is going to be a player of the Buffalo Bills“.
“I told Keon when I was hired that the best thing that ever happened to him was me being his head coach,” Brady said Thursday, the day he was officially introduced to his new position. “I was one of those who defended Keon Colemanand I believe in Keon Coleman“.
Brady said 2025 was a “learning year” for Coleman, adding that the Bills “They had to prioritize the team in many aspects.”
“He’s going to continue to grow, but the qualities we saw during the draft process — the confidence I have in him and his ability — and as long as he fulfills his responsibilities off the field, I have no doubt he’ll be successful on the field,” Brady said.
Joe Bradywho served as offensive coordinator for the Bills over the past two seasons, he is confident that Coleman’s best days are ahead of him and that they have a vision for him to continue growing on offense. Brady added that as a coordinator, he supported every decision the team made and that when it comes to the success of the players on the team, they also have to make sure the system is the best it can be.
Brady’s support for Coleman, the 33rd pick in the NBA draft NFL 2024, comes after owner Terry Pegula’s comments last week following the coach’s firing Sean McDermott.
Pegula pointed out that the coaching staff of the Billsand not general manager Brandon Beane, “pushed to draft Keon” in 2024, adding that Beane “acted as a team player and followed the advice of his coaching staff, who felt strongly about the player.”
Keon Coleman, 22 years old, has had two irregular seasons with the Bills. The former Florida State star was disciplined by McDermott in November for arriving late to a meeting and was ruled out of four games, in addition to failing to surpass 50 receiving yards in a game since the first game of the season. He was benched for a quarter of a game in his rookie campaign due to off-the-field punctuality issues. By the end of the season, Coleman had moved down the depth chart and was the team’s No. 6 wide receiver. Buffalo Bills. Coleman recorded 38 receptions for 404 yards and four touchdowns in 13 games in 2025.
“Mr. Pegula can literally do whatever he wants,” Brady said Thursday. “And one of the things I’ve loved about this is the communication and the ability to express your thoughts and feelings; that’s what I want. That’s part of our culture.”
“… Keon Coleman will still be on our team, and I have no problem that if there are things that need to be corrected, we have those conversations. But Keon knows what I think of him; how much I appreciate him and the faith I continue to have in him.”
The star quarterback of the Bills, Josh Allen, also expressed his support for Coleman on Thursday, saying the receiver “will recover.” [de los comentarios de la semana pasada]”.
“I’m not going to give up on [Coleman]”Allen reiterated. “He’s too talented, and I’m not giving up on him. We will work tirelessly, he and I, and everyone else in this building, to make sure that every time we step on the field, we find a way to win games. And he will be part of that.”
Beane, who was promoted to president of football operations last week, again expressed his support for Coleman and said he has spoken with Coleman’s agent, Paul DeRousselle, on a couple of occasions.
Beane added that Coleman is “focused, ready to play, and that’s our plan going forward.”
