Biathlon Olympic Squad: Rastorgujev & Bendika Lead Team

The Latvian Biathlon Union (LBF) has confirmed the composition of the 2026 Winter Olympic Games team, including the most experienced national team members Andrej Rastorgujev and Baiba Bendika.

Latvia has four quotas each in the men’s and women’s competition at the Olympic Games. The selection was made in accordance with the previously approved selection regulations, evaluating the athletes’ performance in the World Cup and IBU Cup competitions.

Esther Wolfa, Sanita Buliņa, Annie Keita Sabule, Renārs Birkentāls, Rihards Lozbers and Edgars Mise will also compete in the Olympic Games.

The head coach of the men’s team will be Kārlis Vanags, the women’s team will be led by Agnese Caune, Valdis Bērziņš will be the coach, Vasils Mukshins will be the shooting coach, and Per Ulafs Treteruds will be the psychological preparation coach.

The service team will include Reinis Korsūnovs, Edgars Piksons and Úle Björn Treteruds.

The 2026 Winter Olympic Games will take place in a large area in Northern Italy from February 6 to 22 in six clusters – Milan, Anterselva, Cortina, Bormio, Livigno and Predaco-Tesero. Biathletes will compete in Anterselva.
