Biathlon: Braisaz-Bouchet & Jeanmonnot Win – Nove Mesto 2024

As the Winter Olympics approach, the biathlon Blues continue to shine. The day after the French double achieved by Éric Perrot and Émilien Jacquelin on the men’s individual from Nove Mesto, Justine Braisaz-Bouchet and Lou Jeanmonnot imitated their compatriots by claiming victory in the Czech Republic.

Landing on the individual court with the desire to gain confidence during the last stage of the World Cup before the Milan-Cortina Olympics, the Tricolores proved irresistible on the track. Victorious for the first time this winter solo, Braisaz-Bouchet completed the distance in 35′50″3, benefiting from her 19/20 shooting to beat her French teammate by a short head (+ 1″4).

Jeanmonnot’s good operation overall

Arriving with confidence after her success during the pursuit in Ruhpolding, the holder of the yellow bib (19/20) performed excellently in the general classification, taking advantage of the mistakes of her runner-up Suvi Minkkinen, condemned by her bad start (16/20), and the absences of Maren Kirkeeide, Hanna and Elvira Oeberg, respectively 3rd, 4th and 5th in the World Cup rankings.

Reigning individual world champion, Julia Simon finished in seventh position for her return to the discipline after her suspension at the start of the season, finishing 1′38″4 behind the winner of the day.
