A possible transfer of energy goalkeeper Elias Bethke to SG Dynamo Dresden is currently a topic of discussion. According to consistent media reports, the 22-year-old is about to move to the 2nd Bundesliga. Accordingly, the Saxons are working on a firm commitment, but a conclusion is not yet official. The prerequisite is, among other things, a successful sports medical examination. Tag24 and the Lausitzer Rundschau reported unanimously on this.
Reports about goalkeeper Elias Bethke moving to Dresden
According to consistent information from Tag24 and LR+, Elias Bethke is about to move from FC Energie Cottbus to SG Dynamo Dresden. The Nauen native was the starting goalkeeper for the 3rd division leaders at the start of the season, but he tore a tendon in his thigh before the DFB Cup game against Hannover 96 and was out for several months.
In response to the failure, FC Energie Cottbus signed Marius Funk (->> as reported). In Dresden, Bethke should revitalize the goalkeeping situation and create competition in the squad. The background there is the absence of Lennart Grill due to injury and the desire for additional quality in this position.
According to research by the Lausitzer Rundschau (->> Read LR+ article here), the move sought by Dynamo is not a loan deal. Bethke still has a contract in Cottbus until the summer of 2027, which is why a transfer fee would be due. The amount is not known, but is likely to be adjusted given the previous market value assessment and the length of the injury. The decisive factor is now the medical examination, which will decide whether the transfer will take place. The change has not yet been officially confirmed. Both clubs have not yet commented publicly.
