Benidorm: Lost & Found – Orange White Story

On Tuesday morning, the selection – in the sun for a change – completed a good training session. Of course there was also room for some jokes and pranks, and the trainer was not spared.

In the afternoon there was a padel tournament on the program, organized by main sponsor Ben de Jager. The battle was fierce, but just as important: it was fun. Food and drinks had also been taken into account. The eventual winners were Raúl Louwman and supporter Martin Verheij, who received a nice cup for this.

The return journey to the Netherlands was actually supposed to take place today, but earlier this week it was already clear that the flight had been cancelled. Behind the scenes we have been working hard on an alternative trip and a longer stay in the hotel. That has now been arranged. We will check out on Friday at 12 noon, after which the selection will be divided and we will leave by bus to Alicante and Valencia. From there we fly to Brussels and Charleroi respectively, and then return to Dordrecht by bus. Estimated arrival time: 1:30 am.

This is the current plan, although you can never be completely sure in this situation. An extenuating circumstance is that the weather in Benidorm is getting better and the selection is taking advantage of this in various ways (swimming, playing football, on a terrace, etc.). Perhaps another match can be arranged tomorrow.
