Benfica Target: Georgian Striker Watch

Zuriko Davitashvili is one of the names considered by Benfica to reinforce the attacking front.

The news was announced both in Georgia, the player’s home country, and in France, where he plays for Saint-Étienne, and A BOLA confirmed that the 24-year-old striker is, in fact, one of the names referenced by the Benfica structure.

The Georgian press even talks about a proposal of eight million euros that was rejected by Saint-Étienne, which is in the second tier of French football.

Everton and Besiktas are other clubs identified as potential destinations for the player.

Winger or attacking midfielder, Zuriko Davitashvili is Saint-Étienne’s top scorer this season, with nine goals, eight of which in the championship, a competition in which he occupies third place on the scoring list – the same position the team occupies in the league table.

The son of a former striker, Suliko Davitashvili, Zuriko was trained at Dinamo Tbilisi, but also played for neighboring Lokomotiv, before leaving for Russia. He then played for Rubin Kazan, Rotor Volgograd and Arsenal Tula, before returning to his home country to play for Dinamo Batumi.
