The current winner of the trophy, Gomel VRZ, after a devastating home victory over Dorozhnik Minsk (7:0), also won away today with a score of 4:2.

The finalists of the previous cup tournament, the Stolitsa athletes, turned out to be stronger than the Gomel BC – the Minsk team won at home with a score of 6:1, and on the road they won with a score of 8:3.

The current champion of Belarus, Viten Orsha, did not experience any problems in the games with Sturm Minsk – 12:1 (at home) and 9:3 (away).

The most intense was the confrontation between the Brest “Mercury-GTK” and the capital’s “Okhrana-Dynamo”. First, the Brest team won on their home court with a minimal advantage – 1:0, and today in Minsk the rivals split peacefully – 3:3.

The decisive stage will take place this weekend at the Uruchye sports complex in the capital. In the semi-finals on January 10 they will play: “Viten” – VRZ, “Stolitsa” – “Mercury-GTK”. The winners of these meetings will play in the final match on January 11.

Last season, VRZ won the Belarus Cup for the second time, defeating Stolitsa in the decisive match with a score of 3:2. More often than others, the winner of the trophy was the Minsk “Dorozhnik”, which has seven victories. The capital’s MAPID took the cup five times, and Orsha’s Viten four times. -0-
