BCBG Badminton: 9 Medals in Lozère Tournament

Badminton in Lozère is off to a flying start in 2023 with a promising competition, where the members of the BCBG shone. The club started the year by participating in a tournament which not only strengthened the camaraderie among the members, but also allowed young people and veterans to compete against other clubs.

Nine podiums in one day: BCBG shines in Mende

Talented young people at the forefront

On January 10, badminton enthusiasts gathered in Mende for a tournament bringing together young people and veterans. Despite the winter cold, the athletes had the heat of competition close to their hearts. The morning began with the cadets, where Guillemette Dumortier distinguished herself by taking an honorable second place in a very competitive series. His career has been noticed, and his commitment has shown that the potential of BCBG young people is undeniable.

In another series, Anaïs Daudé was able to do well by winning after an exemplary tournament. The afternoon saw the junior series in full swing: Éléa Sanchez and Célian Guirao-Mazel both won their respective series, while Charlotte Huet, for her first tournament, also made a strong impression by placing second. The club can therefore be proud of an impressive crop of podiums which testifies to the hard work and determination of its young athletes. According to the information communicated, the BCBG indeed has the royal road to reach new heights.

Veterans at the top of their game

On the veterans’ field, the preppy also caused a sensation. Far from clichés, these former players have proven that their experience and know-how continue to make the difference in intense matches. In the ladies’ doubles category, Stéphanie Attrazic and Carine Malaval brilliantly won first prize, thus signing an impeccable performance. In the same spirit, Yannick Brès, associated with Mendois partner Olivier Lamolle, also took first place among the men in series 2.

The BCBG therefore prepared well for the start of the year, and this day of competition showed that beyond generations, the spirit of competition and the taste for effort unites all players. Vincent Serruys, with his teammate Geoffrey de Saint-Flour, completed this great performance by obtaining second place in his category. Nine podiums in a single day make this tournament an undeniable success for the club, which is on track to continue this dynamic throughout the year.

A promising season for BCBG

The year begins under good auspices for the BCBG, which has been able to mobilize its members around the passion for badminton. The objectives are clear: maintain this momentum and develop the practice of badminton in Lozère in a friendly and professional setting.

The next events promise to be just as rich, with a course organized by CODEP in Mende on January 31 and an adult tournament which will be held in Langogne at the end of February. These events will continue to strengthen the bonds between players, while providing competitive opportunities necessary for the proper development of talent.
