FC Bayern made a mistake in their Bundesliga home game against FC Augsburg and lost 1:2 (1:0). The scores of the FCB stars:
/ 25 Jonas Urbig: The deployment came as a surprise – but at some point it had to happen. Manuel Neuer on the bench, Urbig in goal – and in the 8th minute he had the ball for the first time. Noticeable: Urbig kept demanding the balls in the build-up game and tried to gain speed forward. However, it looked like a shaky afternoon when he almost conceded a goal shortly after the break after an unfortunate save from Claude-Maurices’ mid-range shot. When the score was 1-1, he misjudged himself and jumped unhappily under the ball. Grade: 5 © IMAGO/Revierfoto
/ 25 Back in the starting line-up – and in an unusual position: out of necessity, Davies played as a right-back. Was more committed defensively than expected in advance. And he also needs a few more games to get back to his old pace. Grade: 3 © IMAGO/JOERAN STEINSIEK
/ 25 Minjae Kim: Immediately got the chance to redeem himself for his yellow-red card against St. Gilloise. At times it was tough, but Kim gritted his teeth and did a solid job for a long time. But then Augsburg got better and better – and the Bayern defense didn’t. Grade: 4 © IMAGO/Bernd Feil/MiS
/ 25 Jonathan Tah: Sometimes acted at the limit of what was acceptable without a whistle, but did it cleverly for a long time. But suddenly he was very busy, especially at the beginning of the second half, and sometimes had problems keeping the center close together with Kim. When he conceded the first goal, he relied on Urbig, who made a mistake. Grade: 5 © IMAGO/Michael Weber IMAGEPOWER
/ 25 Hiroki Ito: I wanted to do better than last week in Leipzig – I succeeded. There was great joy when he headed an Olise corner into the net to make it 1-0 in the 22nd minute. Also seemed safer when moving backwards. Grade: 3 © DeFodi/Imago
/ 25 Leon Goretzka: Was allowed to play instead of Joshua Kimmich, who got a break. The more offensive part on the six. Went forward for many meters, very few of which were remembered. Grade: 4 © IMAGO/Noah Wedel
/ 25 Aleksandar Pavlović: Took on the more responsible role on the six in Kimmich’s absence. Helped at the back when he was (rarely) needed, but also had one or two good ideas going forward. Grade: 3 © IMAGO/Allstar Picture Library Ltd
/ 25 Michael Olise: If you go into a game knowing you’re the best scorer in Europe’s top five leagues, that gives you self-confidence. This time it was a corner that earned him his next assist. This time nothing came out of the game due to a lack of precision. This frustrated him a lot at times. Grade: 3 © IMAGO/Frank Hoermann/SVEN SIMON
/ 25 Lennart Karl: He now has a status where it’s noticeable when he hasn’t scored in two games in a row. It doesn’t look as easy as it did a few weeks ago, and he might have taken advantage of chances like the one in the 25th minute. And there weren’t many ball losses like just before he was substituted. The third game without a goal ended in the 61st minute. Grade: 5 © IMAGO/Eibner press photo/Jenni Maul
/ 25 Luis Diaz: Had his first chance from the right side – and that spoke volumes: Diaz felt like he was everywhere and set pace, shot crosses, played strong passes. It was close to making it 2-0 before halftime, but Dahmen saved in dire need. The most active Bavarian at the front. But that didn’t help. Grade: 4 © IMAGO/Noah Wedel
/ 25 Harry Kane: He doesn’t just have qualities with the ball at his feet: Kane wasn’t directly involved in the 1-0 goal, but he cleared the way for Ito with a strong block. Had several chances to score, none of them compelling. But it was always important in other places on the field – even between the central defenders. But he couldn’t prevent the Augsburg goals either. Grade: 4 © IMAGO/Eibner press photo/Wolfgang Frank
