FC Bayern Munich is hoping for a timely decision from Dayot Upamecano. According to the pay channel ‘Sky’, the record champion in contract poker ideally wants clarity from the central defender by Deadline Day (February 2nd). However, no official deadline was set for the 27-year-old.
Upamecano has a final offer from Bayern, which will no longer be increased. Nevertheless, the league leader is optimistic that an agreement can be reached soon. Some time ago there were reports of a breakthrough in the negotiations, which sports director Max Eberl denied. They are hoping for an extension at Säbener Straße, and Upamecano is indispensable in defense.
The recently injured right-footer is likely to be back in the squad for Munich’s upcoming Champions League duel against PSV Eindhoven on Wednesday (9 p.m.), and he took part in team training again this Monday.
