Laimer has to miss the game due to a torn muscle fiber, while Stanisic has suffered a capsular injury in his ankle. The fact that the two defensive all-rounders are missing was of no importance in Leipzig. Nevertheless, the FCB will of course be relying on Laimer and Stanisic as the season progresses, who have delivered a fabulous round so far.
Bayern is hoping for a quick comeback from Stanisic and Laimer
According to a recent Sky report, the duo is already working on a return. The rehabilitation training could be increased, most recently Stanisic and Laimer were caught on the ergometer. Good news for all fans of the German record champions, because the two long-running favorites of this season shouldn’t be missed for too long.
FC Bayern is apparently planning to have Laimer and Stanisic back on the pitch in February. It may even be enough for both of them to be able to attend the cracker in the DFB Cup. The quarter-finals against RB Leipzig will take place on February 11th. The Bundesliga games against Frankfurt and Dortmund are also on the program next month.
Bayern coach Kompany knows that his two regular players will not be available for Wednesday’s game against St. Gilloise. It is still unclear who will fill the full-back positions. “Everything is an option. Everyone can be asked to help out in a different position,” revealed the coach.
Since Alphonso Davies and Hiroki Ito could gradually become an option for a starting eleven again, the personnel situation is not too tense despite the absences of Laimer and Stanisic.
