Babaeski Hosts First Balkan Basketball Tournament | Sport

Babaeski is preparing to host an important sports organization during the semester break. The International Balkan Basketball Tournament, organized by Babaeski Youth and Sports District Directorate, will be held for the first time in the district.

The tournament will be held on January 19-21

Babaeski Youth and Sports District Director Özmen Akın stated in his statement that the tournament will be held on January 19, 20 and 21. The matches will be played every day between 10.00 and 20.00 at Babaeski Sports Hall.

6 Teams from the Balkans and Türkiye Will Participate

A total of 6 teams will participate in the international tournament. In the organization;

  • Greece,
  • Bulgaria,
  • İstanbul,
  • Canakkale,
  • Kocaeli
  • and teams from Babaeski will compete.

12-Year-Old Girls’ Teams Will Take to the Field

The tournament will be held in the 12-year-old girls’ teams category. It is aimed to contribute to the sports development of young athletes and to gain experience at the international level.

Özmen Akın emphasized that the organization will be held with the contributions of Kırklareli Youth and Sports Provincial Directorate and Babaeski Municipality and stated that the tournament will be an important achievement for Babaeski.

The International Balkan Basketball Tournament, which will be held for the first time in the district, is expected to contribute to both the development of sports culture and the strengthening of friendship ties between countries.
