Unrevealing Kopecky
In the meantime, Kopecky also managed to respond to her new love – in her own way. She therefore remained on the surface. “Being happy is a nice feeling for every person. I don’t really know what to say about it. We are very happy together,” she laughed cautiously at Sporza.
“On a sporting level, 2025 was not my best year. But on a private level it was a very good year. That is why I cannot say that 2025 was not a successful year. I am someone who can be alone, but it is a lot nicer with two.”
According to Kopecky, it also helps that Merckx knows the world: “In itself, yes. It seems very difficult to me, with the life we lead, to have a relationship with someone who does not understand the cycling world. In that respect, I think we have found the right partner in each other.”
Cryptic Merckx
We have not yet heard a response from Merckx on radio or TV, but in the meantime the former rider has come up with a cryptic message via Instagram.
“No longer hidden, unhurried. No words are needed for what is to come. 2026,” Merckx said in the presence of a heart. Kopecky also managed to respond immediately in this way.
