Saturday January 31 (8 p.m.), counting for the twenty-first day of Ligue 2 BKT, the meeting which will pit AS Saint-Étienne against US Boulogne Côte d’Opale at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard will be led by Antoine Valnet. The latter will be assisted by Quentin Guidou and Élodie Coppola. Furthermore, the federal authorities have appointed Jordane Lomi as a replacement arbitrator.
Antoine Valnet has already crossed paths with AS Saint-Étienne during the 2023-2024 season. This, on the occasion of the move of the Foréziens to Niort. This was the final match of the first leg of Ligue 2 BKT and the Greens won (1-0), thanks to a cool goal from Gaëtan Charbonnier. The Bisontin referee then found the Ligériens that season, at the Moustoir in Lorient, scene of a match between the promoted Concarneau and ASSE; match which gave rise to a new success for the Greens thanks to an achievement by Ibrahim Sissoko (1-0). He also officiated during the Greens’ victory over Annecy (2-1); the Haut-Savoyards gave in with goals scored by Irvin Cardona and Ibrahim Sissoko. On the other hand, still under his orders, and while the club celebrated its 90th anniversary, Paris FC came to shower the Chaudron (0-1) and Nîmes to eliminate the Foréziens in the Coupe de France (0-1).
During the previous financial year, Antoine Valnet managed 18 matches from the front of the French elite, warning 68 players and sending off four: the Bastiais Dylan Tavares and the Parisians Vincent Marchetti and Jean-Philippe Krasso during the success of the Islanders at home (2-1) as well as the Annécien Clément Billemaz during the Bastiais trip to Haute-Savoie (1-1).
This season, Antoine Valnet led ten Ligue 2 BKT matches during which he warned forty-four players and carried out two expulsions, that of Laval player Théo Pellenard against ASSE (3-3) and that of Trojan Mohamed Diop during the recent success of the Aube leader against Reims (2-1). He therefore notably officiated on the occasion of the inaugural day which saw the Mayennais share the points with the Ligériens in Laval, on August 9 (3-3). He also officiated during the Greens’ successful trip to Montpellier (0-2) and a double from the Georgian international, Zuriko Davitashvili. More generally, Antoine Valnet refereed seven matches for the Greens resulting in four wins, a parity score and two losses.
