Pushed out by the Canaries, Yassine Benhattab could try to relaunch in Ligue 2.
AS Saint-Étienne remains attentive to the opportunities offered by the winter market, in particular to strengthen its offensive sector. With this in mind, the Greens are closely monitoring the situation of Yassine Benhattab, attacking midfielder for FC Nantes. While the Canaries wish to reshape their squad in the fight for maintenance, several players are announced to be leaving, including the 23-year-old, who arrived last summer from Aubagne but who is struggling to establish himself in Ligue 1.
Unconvincing in Nantes, Benhattab however arouses the interest of several clubs, particularly in Ligue 2, and ASSE would have positioned itself on the file. Capable of playing on the right side, the young winger could bring speed and creativity to the Saint-Etienne attack, which is in difficulty this season. Currently fourth, Eirik Horneland’s men are aiming for second place, synonymous with a direct rise to Ligue 1, and a loan from Nantes could represent an interesting opportunity to boost the offensive sector.
